BrewBudz Black Tea Review

Product: Garden of Eden Black Tea
Brand: BrewBudz
Total MG per Package (Single Dose): 120 mg (10 mg)

It’s not secret that my generation is obsessed with caffeine. The fact that I can now have it with cannabis; that’s wake-and-bake heaven. Trying to embrace the best part of waking up, I reviewed BrewBudz Infused Tea K-Cups. You heard me right, we have infused versions of one of the coolest coffee inventions of our generation.

BrewBudz, a company committed to sustainable and healthy products, created these high quality teas and coffees. The patented flower-extracted pods are 100% compostable and come in single servings. Contrary to many infused beverages, Brewbudz doesn’t use concentrates to infuse their coffees, teas, and cocoas. They’ve found that they lose some of their cannabinoids and terpenes, that can attribute to effects, in the extraction process. As a result, BrewBudz feels they’ve made a discovery.

“We changed the barrier properties in cannabis, so as the compound is running through your system, it’s not breaking down until it reaches your liver. Most drugs have bioavailability, or how much your body actually receives versus how much you eat. Most edibles are at 5 percent because of how your body absorbs them, but Brewbudz is closer to 40 or 50 percent.”
-Strategic Accounts Director at Cannabiniers, the parent company of Brewbudz, Kevin Love

Taste Test
I’ve crossed between tea and coffee a lot over the years; but, tea is my favorite. The Garden of Eden Black tea is whole-leaf blended with tropicals. You can for sure taste it in one cup. It has a zesty almost Lemon Ginger taste, great for a cup in the morning to get you going. The THC in the drink accounts from some of the strong taste of the tea but the blend’s taste is honestly one of it’s best attributes. It has a great earthy taste without bitterness, if you sweeten it. It feels like the same bite as coffee without the jitteriness either.
Even without the sugar, the taste was still great. The caryophyllene like taste was smooth and woodsy. Even if you are more of a coffee person, this tea might still be right up your alley. Most infused drinks can have a bitter flavor but this one seemed to match well with the blend of the tea.

Potency Test
Since the potency on each pod was one 10 mg, I made a cup of ice tea with 4 pods. The pods do come in 25 mg and 50 mg doses, however, we could only find the lowest dose for this test.
Given how much I typically dose myself, I didn’t feel any strong effects from the drink. It was mild and kept my mind active on some reading I had to get done. It was a nice boost to help me wake up in the morning. In that avenue, the tea worked great.

The Verdict
In the end, I did like the tea. The taste was great and it was reminiscent of some of my favorite blends. Though I didn’t feel the effects as I thought I would, I believe it is solely from the dose that I chose. If you are looking for strong blend to start your morning, I would definitely recommend it. The lowest dose, in addition, was smooth and would still be a nice medicating experience for someone new to edibles.
