Burning Love: Strains To Get You In the Mood

Couple w/smoke

Any real cannabis enthusiast knows that just about every activity is improved with a bit of bud.
We’ve all heard of chocolate and oysters playing a role in the bedroom but, what about cannabis as an aphrodisiac? It has been heavily debated as its popularity has grown. Science has given mixed signals but users claim that the plant is the most natural alternative to enhancement pills.

Associate Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry, Dr. Lester Grinspoon believes “There’s no doubt that when people are high, they’re more sensitive to their sexual feelings and urges.” According to Ian Kerner, a sex therapist for Men’s Health, he adds that it can definitely have a positive effect on reducing anxiety and helping to perform better. Some, however, have argued that our favorite plant can have negative side effects on sex instead.
While for men, it may be more true, there are many factors that attribute negative side effects from cannabis. Typically, those who combined with cannabis with other drugs reduced their sperm count by 55%. Aside from that, nothing had seemed to change. There is no definitive answer but cannabis in combination with other substances seemed to be the culprit.
Consuming cannabis is a sensory experience and it influences sex in that way. With the senses amped-up, and anxiety and stress washed away, the thrill of the moment can waltz many away very easily. As many studies have cited, the effects that correlate to your sex drive have are more to do with the mind than the body.

For this reason, the types of strains and the desired feelings are important to consider.
The terpenes Limonene, Caryophyllene, and Linolol are great to look for if you are looking to change things in the bedroom. They all help relieve stress, work as antidepressants, and elevate the mood among other things. Though they have many things in common, these terpenes can chameleon their way into different strain families and feel different with a variations. Because of this, Hybrids are usually best given their blend of both worlds. Depending on how relaxed you would like to be, you can coordinate between the three, respectively.

So with all this terpene talk, what are some of the best strains to get you in the mood?
