Caesars No Longer Testing For Cannabis

It’s been nearly a year since Cannabis was legalized in Nevada and many natives can tell a difference since that day. One of the most apparent signs are the companies dropping cannabis from the list of drugs that will take you out of the running for employment.
Caesars Entertainment is the newest addition to that list. The casinos, who pride themselves on being a “drug-free workplace”, will no longer be doing pre-employment drug testing for Cannabis.
As mentioned before, they are not the first in Las Vegas to remove initial testing for but, they are the only Casino Property to do away with them. The Casino giant credits the decision to not being able to fill positions as managers can’t find people who don’t consume.
According to KTNV, a spokesperson for Caesars says, “that they only drug test employees if they have a reason to believe they’ve used drugs.”
MGM will continue issuing pre-employment drug testing. MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment control the famous Las Vegas Strip through multiple properties. MGM owns the bulk of them while Caesars owns a large amount of the rest.
More details as the story develops.
