March Budtender Spotlight

Rene Palomares
This month we would love to feature an amazing Budtender from Las Vegas, Nevada, Renee Palomares!

Tell us a little about yourself!

I am originally from Chicago. A transplant here to Las Vegas, Nevada. I love to help people that’s why I got into this industry in the first place.

Which dispensary do you work at?

I used to work in the dispensaries but now I’m actually working on the production side of things. I make CBD isolate for a living and that is my passion now.

How long have you been a budtender?

I worked as a budtender for over a year. During that time I gained a lot of knowledge because I went out to different events, networked, and also did research so I could learn more about cannabinoids and terpenes.

What made you decide to work in the cannabis industry?

The reason I decided to work in the Cannabis industry is because I got really sick. And I knew there was something more than prescription medication that would help me get better. I was right, and that was Cannabis and CBD products.

What is one of the most common questions that you receive from patients?

The most common question my patients would ask me is if I love my job.

I would answer “Duh, I love my job.”

Do you have any advice for first-time patients visiting a dispensary?

If you’re going into a dispensary for the first time, ask your budtender if they have any deals going on! Also if you have any ailments that need to be treated let your budtender know so they can direct you to your proper medicine.

On average, how many patients per day do you help?

20 – 30

What is your favorite cannabis brand?

I have a couple of favorite cannabis brands. The first one would be Grower Circle. I really liked their Saturn OG.

What is your favorite strain?

My favorite strain of all times will always be lemon trees!

What is your favorite way to consume?

All of the above!!

What is your favorite part of being a budtender?

My favorite part of being a budtender was helping people everyday. Informing people of how certain strains and certain terpenes could help alleviate certain ailments. Now I get to help people on a molecular level. Because now I help people by making CBD isolate.

Do you have any advice for aspiring budtenders?

Learn your cannabinoids and learn about terpenes and really find out what they help with. Be your own guinea pig. Go out and experiment with cannabinoids and terpenes that’s the only way you’re going to be able to help someone else.

Thank you Renee for being an amazing budtender and an awesome part of our cannabis community!
