Cannabis Horchata

Ingredients

  • 2 cups uncooked long grain white rice
  • 7 ½ cups water
  • ½ cup sugar OR ½ cup pitted dates (only for sugar-free option)
  • 3 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cinnamon sticks (more to garnish)
  • 1-2 tsp. (10ml) of cannabis tincture per serving
  • Optional: ½ cup blanched almonds

Directions

  1. In a blender add rice, blanched almonds (optional), and 3 cups water
  2. Blend the mixture until it reaches a fine consistency.
  3. Next, pour the mix into a bowl and add vanilla and cinnamon sticks.
  4. Let this sit for a minimum of 8hrs. (Note: it should be covered)
  5. Using a cheesecloth (or mesh sieve), strain the mixture over a large bowl. Add ½ cup of water to help remove some of the grittiness.
  6. After straining, add ½ cup sugar and stir.
  7. Next, add 4 cups of water. Stir thoroughly.
  8. Add 1-2 tsp. (10ml) of cannabis tincture per serving
  9. Serve with ice and garnish with cinnamon sticks
